Native American Projects & Mentorship
Applied data science projects and long-term technical mentorship conducted in partnership with Native communities and organizations. This work emphasizes capacity building, ethical data practices, and translating analytical rigor into locally meaningful outcomes.
- Led applied analysis and reporting efforts for tribal public health initiatives, including tobacco-use surveillance and community-facing summaries.
- Provided sustained technical mentorship to early-career Native students and analysts in data science, epidemiology, and reproducible research workflows.
- Supported tribal, state, and federal partners in improving the accuracy and consistency of Native American representation in health and administrative data systems.
- Organized and led professional development and knowledge-sharing initiatives connecting Native students with practitioners across STEM and public-sector roles.
